Sense Envelope IV

The project explores the design of architectural methods and models that allow dynamic responsive behaviour embedded in the material by organising multiple layers of oak veneer and surface colours.

Through physical and computational prototypes, studies are conducted to create a building envelope layer, which acts solely on the available energy (exergy) to perform thermal environmental conditioning of the internal space.

The research work is presented at the 3rd International Conference for Structures and Architecture (2016) and published in the conference proceedings with the title 'An Oak Composite Thermal Dynamic Envelope'
